Transfer orientations are held prior to the start of every fall and spring semester by the Academic Advising Center. At the transfer orientation, new students will review degree requirements, academic policies, and deadlines. All students meet with an academic advisor to review how their credits have transferred and discuss what requirements they will need to satisfy their degree. Many orientations, but not all, include assistance with course registration from staff at the college.
Students can sign up for an orientation after receiving an acceptance letter from the college. The link to sign up is included in an email from the Office of Admissions. Students must reserve a spot to attend.
After reserving a spot for a transfer orientation, students must review the information on the Academic Advising Center’s Transfer Portal, which includes the Know Before You Go presentation, a checklist of items to review, as well as instructions on how to begin registering for courses, sign up for online accounts, etc.
Students are also encouraged to review the New Student Guide below, which includes additional information on programs, resources, and student tips.
